Thugs have again kidnapped seven Bangladeshis from Jahazapura Hill in Teknaf Upazila of Cox's Bazar on Thursday (16 March) afternoon. The abducted persons are Rafiq Alam, Aziz, Ayyub and Fazal Karim, residents of Jahazpura village of Baharchhara union of the upazila. The identities of the others were not immediately known.
Mohammad Rafiq, Teknaf Baharchhara Union Parishad member confirmed this information and said that on Thursday afternoon seven people in the area were abducted while collecting wood. Later the news of abduction was reported to the police.
Abdul Halim, Officer-in-charge of Teknaf police station said, he will take a team to investigate into the hills.
On December 18, eight people were kidnapped while fishing in a canal in hills in Jahazpura area of Baharchhara Union of Teknaf. Later they could came back in return of ransom.
