Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina emphasized the need to address the issue of juvenile gangs during a cabinet meeting held on Monday. She proposed a collaborative approach involving parents, teachers, and the creation of conducive environments for correction.

The global concept of child and adolescent mental health and proper care was highlighted during the discussion. It was noted that in recent years, teenagers have increasingly become involved in various criminal activities due to a lack of familial attention and awareness.

Despite consistent expressions of concern from experts, little action has been taken in addressing these issues within family and social spheres.

Prime Minister Hasina underscored the importance of proactive measures, ordering the establishment of a separate facility to prevent juvenile criminals from associating with hardened criminals. This initiative aims to provide a supportive environment conducive to rehabilitation and reintegration.
