PM opens Bangladesh Business Summit 2023

 Bangladesh is a role model for development today due to Awami League being in power for 14 consecutive years. Meanwhile, the head of government called on the traders to find a way to keep the market price of the products bearable while thinking about the common people.

She said these things while addressing the chief guest at the opening ceremony of the country's biggest business conference "Bangladesh Business Summit 2023" at Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC) in the capital on Saturday morning.

In the opening ceremony of this summit organized to highlight the economic potential of Bangladesh in the world, the Prime Minister said, “Bangladesh is now a role model for development. Even though the whole world stopped due to Corona, our economy did not stop. GDP of $60 billion in 2006 has now become $465 billion.”

The head of government said, "Bangladesh is now in the second position in the world in the clothing sector. It would not have been possible to do so much without giving importance to the private sector.”

The Prime Minister said, "Bangladesh has shown its capability by constructing the Padma Bridge with its own financing. We have proved that we can by building Padma Bridge with our own funds. I have started working on the implementation of Vision 2041.”

Among others, Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi, Foreign Minister Dr. Senior government officials and business leaders including AK Abdul Momen, Prime Minister's Adviser on Private Industry and Investment Salman F. Rahman were present.

Incidentally, ministers of seven countries including United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, China, Bhutan, United Arab Emirates, chief executive officers of 12 multinational companies and more than two hundred foreign investor representatives and business leaders from 17 countries are participating in the business summit.

According to the stakeholders, the summit will help in enhancing Bangladesh's economic capacity, creating new investment opportunities and expanding business in the country. The summit will have three plenary sessions on various strategic topics, 14 parallel sessions, business to business meetings, networking sessions, an open house reception and guided tours for international delegates.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce and Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) are working as partners of FBCCI in Bangladesh Business Summit.
