Fire service fears that the Mogbazar building at the Wireless Gate where explosion originated may collapse at any moment. The building is now at risk.
On Sunday (June 26) at 7:30 pm, a loud explosion took place in the wireless area of Maghbazar. Sparks of fire were seen there after the explosion.
So far, seven people have been killed and more than 50 injured.
“The ground floor of the building was blown up in the blast. We will investigate exactly what caused the explosion. Now the first task is to rescue the victims”, said Debashish Vardhan, Deputy Director of Dhaka Division Fire Service and Civil Defense.
He added that many are feared to be trapped inside. 12 units of fire service are working there. The trapped people are being rescued inside the building. I'm on the spot. We will be able to provide the information later.
