Dhaka sees 44mm rain this morning

Dhaka likely to witness more rain today as 44 mm of rain was recorded in the capital from 6-8am this morning. 

According to Bangladesh Meteorological Department, clouds have moved towards the south and southeast from above Dhaka 8am onwards, but thunder and hail clouds are forming again and it may rain again today in Dhaka district.

"There is a possibility of hailstorm and rain in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, some parts of Rajshahi and Dhaka divisions and one or two places in Barisal division during the next 24 hours," said the meteorologist.

Wind speed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka was a maximum of 70 km per hour this morning, according to Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

At 6:46 am, the wind speed recorded there was 70 kmph, Meteorologist Dr Md Abul Kalam Mollik said.
