Ahead of the BNP‍‍`s October 28 demonstration, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal declared on Wednesday that no roads or access points into Dhaka would be closed by the government.

Bangladesh is a democratic country that allows for the implementation of nonviolent political initiatives. The law enforcement authorities will, however, take the proper legal action if there is a risk of a public disturbance, the minister said during a press conference at the Secretariat after a law-and-order meeting focused on Victory Day.

The BNP has announced the location and specifics of their rally through newspapers and social media, so the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner is aware of how they obtained permission for it. They intend to bring people from all over the country, Kamal added.

However, he noted that the commissioner had not yet approved the rally.

BNP announced the rally in order to meet the demands of Sheikh Hasina led-government‍‍`s resignation and conducting the next national elections under a non-party caretaker government.
