Dengue: 39 more patients hospitalized in 24 hours

Thirty-nine new dengue patients were hospitalized in the 24 hours till Monday (December 20) morning.

No new deaths were reported during the same period, according to a bulletin of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

On Sunday, the health authorities reported two deaths, which took the death toll this year to 103.

Of them, 93 people died in Dhaka division alone, four in Mymensingh, two each in Chittagong and Khulna, and one each in Rajshahi and Barisal divisions.

Seventeen patients are undergoing treatment at hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 22 cases have been reported from outside the division.As of Monday, some 134 dengue patients are receiving treatment in the country.

Of them, 89 are receiving treatment at different hospitals in the capital while the remaining 45 were listed outside Dhaka.

Since January, some 28,216 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with Dengue in the country. So far, 27,979 dengue patients have left hospitals after recovery, said the DGHS.
