Cattle market to launch in Dhaka from July 17

Cattle market on the occasion of the Holy Eid-ul-Azha, the second biggest religious festival of Muslims, will be launched in Dhaka from July 17 and will continue until July 21.

Md Mozammel Haque, Chief Estate Officer of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) revealed the matter on Monday (July 12).

He said, “A total of 19 cattle markets will be set up in the capital on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha for five days, from July 17 to July 21. Of which, 10 markets including a permanent one will be set up in DNCC while 9 in DSCC.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal on Monday said that the government will take decision over the ongoing restrictions considering cattle traders and shop owners.

Where cattle markets to be set up in DNCC

1. Open space of Badda Eastern Housing (Aftab Nagar), Block-E, Section-3.

2. The empty space adjacent to Kaula Shial Bhanga.

3. Open space of both sides of Mandal Dumni Bazar bound road in Ward no 43 near Purbachal Bridge.

4. Open space in Eastern Housing in Mirpur Section-6, Ward-6.

5. Open space of Uttar Khan Mainartek Housing Project.

6. The empty place from Brindaban to BGMEA in Uttara sector 17.

7. Bhatara (Sayeenagar) temporary cattle market.

8. Open spaces of Rajdhani Housing, Shwapnodhara Housing and Bosila Garden City at Bosial adjacent to 40 feet road in Mohammadpur.

9. The place adjacent to Salam Steal Ltd, Jamuna Housing Company adjacent to 300 feet road under Ward no 43.

10. Mirpur Gabtoli cattle market (permanent).
