In yet another World Cup encounter against India, Pakistan succumbed with little resistance on Saturday in Ahmedabad.

In this high-stakes match, India won the toss and opted to field first, swiftly restricting Pakistan to 191 all out in 42.5 overs.

In response, India comfortably chased the subpar target in just 30.3 overs, clinching a decisive seven-wicket victory over their arch-rivals.

Leading the charge, Rohit Sharma impressed with a powerful 86 off 63 balls, featuring six fours and six sixes.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi took two wickets but his effort was not enough to avoid a big defeat for Pakistan.

Earlier, Abdullah Shafique and Imam-ul-Haq kicked off their innings with a few boundaries off Mohammed Siraj. However, it was Siraj who made the breakthrough, dismissing Abdullah Shafique for 20.

In the third partnership, Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam contributed 82 runs. Yet, after Babar‍‍`s dismissal, also at the hands of Siraj, Pakistan‍‍`s batting line-up crumbled.

From a promising position of 155 for two, Pakistan concluded their innings at 191 all out.

India‍‍`s first five bowlers each secured two wickets apiece.

In World Cup history, Pakistan has now faced India in 8 matches but failed to secure even a single win.
