Polling violence: One shot dead in Bhola

One person has been shot dead in polling violence leaving another person injured. The deceased was identified as Monir (25).

The incident occurred near Char Fakira Koaid Primary School in ward number 5 of Hajariganj Union in Char Fashion upazila of Bhola on Monday (June 21).

Monir, son of Bashir Ullah, hails from the area.  

Clashes over establishing supremacy

Supporters of member candidate Yasin and Younus Shikdar locked into clashes. Locals said, both the groups was trying to establish supremacy in the polling area prompting in the violence. Monir sustained severe injury and later succumbed at Charfashion hospital where he was taken to.

Police opened fire

Bhola district police super Md. Kaysar said, police also opened fire to bring the situation in grip. 12 rounds were fired at the time leaving none injured.
