Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina started the campaign for the 12th national parliamentary elections by offering prayer at the shrines (tomb/majar) of Hazrat Shah Jalal (R) and Hazrat Shah Paran (R) and reciting holy Quran in Sylhet, the sacred city of Bangladesh on December 20. She also participated in the grand election rally at the historic Alia Madrasa ground of the city at 3pm.
