Probe report in Fardin murder case on Jan 15

A Dhaka court has deferred the date for submitting the investigation report in the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) student Fardin Noor Parash murder case to January 15, 2023.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shanto Islam Mallik set the new date on Monday as the investigation officer of the case could not submit the probe report today.

Earlier, the court placed Amatullah Bushra, a friend of Fardin and student of East West University, who was arrested from her Rampura residence in the case, on a five-day remand.

The victim’s father Nur Uddin Rana filed the case with Rampura Thana against some people including Bushra.

Fardin was a third-year student of civil engineering of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). On November 4, he left home and did not return. Later, his father filed a general diary with the Rampura Thana in this regard. On November 7, the body was seen floating on the Shitalakshya River just behind a cotton mill at Siddhirganj.

On information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body.

Following his autopsy on November 8, he was buried at Delpara Central Graveyard in Narayanganj.
