Storm leaves thousands without power in California

Following a stormy night in Southern California, many were still without electricity on Saturday morning.

Customers who live in certain neighborhoods may have to wait hours for utility repairs, which might cut off their power until Saturday night or Sunday.

Both Southern California Edison and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power reported numerous major outages that started on Friday.

Along with smaller, dispersed outages throughout Los Angeles County, Saturday‍‍`s LADWP outages included one in East Hollywood, which impacted over 2,300 customers, one in Hollywood, which impacted over 1,600 customers, one in Los Feliz, which impacted over 1,000 customers, and one in Toluca Lake, which impacted 874 customers. The utility predicted that Toluca Lake will have power restored by 10 p.m., East Hollywood by 10:30 p.m., Hollywood by 11 p.m., and Los Feliz by midnight.

In North Hollywood, Valley Village, and Studio City, several hundred people were also without electricity, and a repair was not expected until later on Saturday.
