No discussion on caretaker govt with US deligation: Law Minister

Anisul Huq, Minister of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, stated on Thursday that no discussion on caretaker government was held.

Following a meeting with the delegation led by Under Secretary Uzra Zeya at the Secretariat in Dhaka, the minister made this statement to the media.

The law minister said, “No discussion on caretaker government happened as they didn’t bring it up.”

Anisul also said that the visiting US team wanted a thorough probe into the murder of labor leader Shahidul Islam.

The law minister stated, "I clearly told them that Bangladesh has no culture of impunity, justice is ensured upon investigation of any crime in Bangladesh now, and there will be no exception in this case either."

Donald Lu, the US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, and Anjali Kaur, the Deputy Assistant Administrator of the USAID Bureau for Asia, were also members of the delegation.
