Voting is underway at 835 union parishads (UP) for the second phase. Voting will continue from 8:00 am Thursday (November 11) till 4:00 pm of the same day.
For this phase, votes will be cast through Electronic Voting Machine (EVMs) installed at 26 unions, and the rest will be collected through ballot papers.
Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has expressed hope that the election environment will be peaceful and festive. He said, the law enforcement agencies have been directed to take strict action to curb electoral violence.
According to the Election Commission, 81 candidates were elected unopposed in the second phase for the post of chairman, 73 for the post of reserved women member and 203 for the post of general member.
