Presiding officer of a Union Parishad polling station dies

A presiding officer has died while on duty at a polling station in Kushtia's Mirpur upazila. The deceased is is Joynal Abedin and he wss a teacher of Nimtala College, Mirpur Upazila. 

He died on Wednesday (November 10) at around 11:30 pm. Kushtia Superintendent of Police Khairul Alam confirmed the death of the presiding officer. 

Anwarul Islam, assistant presiding officer of Kushtia's Mirpur upazila, said he suddenly fell ill at the Ramnagar Tintutala center in ward 7 of Kursha union.

He said Presiding Officer Joynal Abedin informed him of his physical illness at around 11:30 pm. At this time he had difficulty breathing. He died shortly afterwards at the polling station. 

Later a local doctor came and confirmed his demise.
