Police seek 7-day remand for Rassel-Shamima in separate case

Police sought 7 days remand for Evaly CEO Md. Rassel and his wife, also chairman of the company, Shamima Nasrin in a case filed over grabbing money. The duo is already on remand in a fraud case filed with Gulshan police station.

Investigation officer of Dhanmondi police station sought the remand plea on Tuesday (September 21) following as another case of embezzlement was filed.

Officer in Charge (OC) Ikram Ali Mia of Dhanmondi police station confirmed the matter to TheReport.live.

“A case was filed with our police station over deceiving clients and misappropriating money. We sought 7-day remand for the sake of a fair investigation,” OC Ikram Ali Mia said.  

The Evaly chairman and CEO will be produced before the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate as the remand order in a case filed with Gulshan police station ended Monday. Hearing on the new remand application will held after 3pm.

Judge Atiqul Islam of Dhaka CMM court placed Rassel and Shamima on three days remand earlier on Friday (September 17).

On September 16, the duo was arrested from their Mohammedpur residence following the deception case was filed.
