PMO orders strict market monitoring

Prime Minister‍‍`s Office (PMO) has issued a set of directives to the authorities concerned to carry out constant monitoring of the markets to keep normal the prices, stocks and supplies of essential commodities.

The PMO held a view exchange meeting virtually with various ministries, departments and deputy commissioners in this regard on Sunday afternoon.

The meeting discussed prominently on preparation of the impending cyclone ‍‍`Sitrang‍‍`, production of Aman and Robi crops, stockpile of fertilizers and other recent issues.

It also discussed the storage of sugar and its supply against the backdrop of the recent sugar price hike

PM‍‍`s Principal Secretary Dr Ahmad Kaikaus presided over the meeting while PMO Senior Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah moderated it.

PM‍‍`s Deputy Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon told reporters about the outcome of the meeting.

He said the field level administration briefed the PM‍‍`s Principal Secretary about storage of essential goods alongside fertiliser and their supply.

Secretaries of the ministries for industries, food, agriculture, disaster management and relief, and officials of Meteorological Department, divisional commissioners, and deputy commissioners of costal districts, among others, joined the meeting.

At the outset of the meeting, director of the Ashrayan-2 project gave a brief description about the latest condition of it.
