PM proposes 6-point to G-20 including world peace maintenance

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina placed six proposals for sustainable global economic growth and development of southern hemisphere countries before the G-20 alliance – an ally of 20 countries having largest economies in the world.

She made these proposals virtually from her official residence Gonobhavan at the inaugural program of ‘Voice of the South Summit 2023’ held in New Delhi, India on Thursday.

The Prime Minister stated that, considering Russia-Ukraine war as well as Covid-19 pandemic situations, it is the ideal time to collaborate in order to transform the current global economic system into one that is just and respectable. During that time, she presented 6 proposals to the leaders of G-20. The proposals are:

1.      Maintain world peace and stability in the greater interest of humanity

2.      Creating new examples to tackle overall inequality in line with the SDG goals

3.      Special funding for the most vulnerable countries affected by climate change

4.      Making bridge between the ‘Digital Divides’ to ensure equal opportunities for all, including women. Taking advantage of 4th

         Industrial Revolution by investing in young population for which financing and technology transfer support is vital

5.      Ensuring every human being has an equal right to live well

6.      Strengthening South-South and triangular cooperation to ensure global human development

The premier mentioned that the support from partners, international financial institutions, private sectors, think-tanks, and other stakeholders were crucial.

The prime minister warmly congratulated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the government of India on assumption of G20 Presidency.
