Metro rail movement time increased by 2 hours

Considering the demand of passengers, the running time of metro rail has been extended by 2 hours. Metrorail will run till 2 pm at 9 stations from Uttara to Agargaon in the capital.

This new schedule started from Wednesday (April, 5). Metrorail will run from 8 am to 2 pm.

Managing Director of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), M A N Siddique gave this information in a press conference at Prabasi Kallyan Bhaban in the capital on Thursday (March, 30).

The 21 km long metro rail from Uttara to Kamalapur in Dhaka is known as MRT Line-6. The government took up this project in 2012. The total cost of implementing the MRT Line-6 project is 33 thousand 472 crores.

On December 28, 2022, the first part of this route was launched from Uttara to Agargaon. The second section from Agargaon to Motijheel is planned to be operational by the end of 2023.

Apart from this, the extension from Motijheel to Kamalapur railway station might be fucntional in 2025.
