A leader of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal has been hacked to death by miscreants in Kushtia's Daulatpur upazila.
The deceased is-- Mahbub Khan Salam, general secretary of Daulatpur unit of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal's Jubo Jot.
Jabid Hasan, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station, said: “A gang of 15 to 20 miscreants attacked Mahbub and two of his aides with sharp weapons around 11 pm on Wednesday, leaving them critically injured.”
“Hearing their scream, locals rushed in and took them to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex, where Mahbub died at 1:20am. Injured Mamun Joarder and Harun are still undergoing treatment,” he added.
Police visited the spot and are investigating the incident.
