Former Additional Secretary (OSD) of the Ministry of Railways Mahbub Kabir Milon has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Evaly, a notoriously popular e-commerce company. Milon, a former government official will be the managing director (MD) in government salary.
The High Court bench (HC) of Justice Muhammad Khurshid Alam Sarkar passed the order on Monday (October 18). The HC spoke to Mahbub Kabir in this regard and are pleased to see his interest in the work.”
Earlier, the HC had constituted a five-member committee headed by HM Samsuddin Chowdhury Manik, a former judge of the Appellate Division, to conduct the eviction.
Other members of the committee are Mohammad Rezaul Ahsan, former secretary of local government and rural development, Mahbub Kabir Milon, additional secretary at OSD, Fakhruddin Ahmed, a chartered accountant, and Barrister Khan Mohammad Shamim Aziz, a lawyer who specializes in company law.
Mahbub Kabir was the last Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Railways. He was taking new initiatives to eliminate various irregularities in the railway department. On August 6 last year, he was promoted to Special Officer in Charge (OSD).
Mahbub Kabir previously served as a member of the Bangladesh Food Safety Authority. He was also the acting chairman of the authority for some time. At this time, he discussed the steps taken against adulteration and various irregularities in food.
