Fraud case filed against Evaly CEO, Chairman

A client, Arif Baker, has filed a case against Evaly Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Md. Rassel and his wife and chairman of the group Shamima Nasrin.

Arif Baker filed the case with Gulshan police station accusing the duo of deception and money grabbing on Wednesday (September 15) night.  

Talking to media plaintiff Baker said, he invested taka 3 lakh 10 thousand 597 being enticed to buy product seeing its advertisement.

However, the accused grabbed the money instead of the product which was supposed to deliver between 7-45 days.

Referring to the case statement Gulshan police station official said, “Baker and some of his friends ordered some products of the company seeing add. He paid taka 3 lakh 10 thousand 597 in phases from May 29 to June 16 through online banking and another bank card.”

“Evaly assured of refunding the money if it fails to deliver product between 7-45 days. The victims attempted repeatedly to contract with the company and failed. Earlier, they gave several dates to deliver the product,” the police official said.

Three customers including Baker went to Evaly office at Dhanmondi 14 in the capital on September 9 to meet CEO Rassel over the purchase.

But, Rassel responded with death threats which frightened the man, according to the case statement.

The case claims financial damages as well as mental stress due to the incident.
