Two city corporation elections are being monitored simultaneously through CCTV cameras from the temporary control room of the Election Commission (EC) auditorium. Starting at 8 am the EC led by Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal also kept Cox`s Bazar municipality election under surveillance.
Election Commissioner Brigadier General retired Ahsan Habib Khan, Election Commissioner Md Alamgir, Election Commissioner Rasheda Sultana were also accompanying CEC while monitoring the election from the control room.
Khulna City election is being monitored through 3210 cameras.
There have been 1146 CCTV cameras installed in Barishal city. Apart from this, Cox`s Bazar municipal elections are being monitored through 331 CC cameras in 43 centers.
As many as 23 digital display boards were installed in the EC. Each display is auto-rotated every ten seconds thus monitoring the polling activities of 458 centres.
Election monitoring is underway by installing one in each polling booth and two in each center. No untoward incident has been reported in the election so far.
