Current heat wave will remain in 52 districts for two more days

The maximum temperature in the country has exceeded 39 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours. This heatwave is currently sweeping over 52 districts of the country and it may continue for another two days, the Meteorological Department informed. 

This information was reported in the weather forecast till 6 pm on Tuesday (April 11).

Hafizur Rahman, meteorologist of the Meteorological Department, said that the daytime temperature may rise slightly across the country. Heatwave conditions may continue for the next two days. However, there is no possibility of any significant change in the weather in the next five days.

The meteorologist also said that the weather over the country may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy skies.

On Monday (April 10), the highest temperature in the country was 39.2 degrees Celsius at Chuadanga and the lowest temperature was 19.2 degrees Celsius at Dimla. The maximum temperature in Dhaka on this day was 37.5 degrees Celsius.

According to the weather synoptic, the extension of western low pressure is located over West Bengal and adjoining areas. Seasonal normal low pressure is located over South Bay of Bengal.

There are no warnings and no signals to be displayed for the country's inland river ports, the Meteorological Department said.
