Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) directed the owners to place a proposal within seven days mentioning how much discount they can offer for students in public transports.
The transport owners said, they have to incur a big loss if half pass is allowed. The price of everything is high while the number of trips is low. Besides, the government doesn’t provide any subsidies.
BRTA and bus owners held a meeting at the former's head office in the capital on Thursday (November 25) which ended up with no decision.
During the meeting the owners said, they will place the proposal based on discussion among themselves regarding the half fare.
