BNP will hold a protest rally in all major cities of the country on March 18 as part of a simultaneous movement for 10-point demands including reduction in prices of daily commodities including electricity, gas, release of Khaleda Zia, resignation of the government and national elections under the caretaker government.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the protest rally program organized in front of the party office in Naya Paltan of the capital on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mirza Fakhrul said, to protest against the corruption of the totalitarian government, to implement the 10-point demand of BNP, including the demand to reduce the prices of daily necessities, protest rallies will be held in the cities of the country on Saturday, March 18.
Stating that this government wants to eliminate BNP and destroy BNP leadership, BNP Secretary General added, “They have systematically destroyed all the institutions of the country. The people of the country can no longer be fooled by destroying the communal harmony of the country. They want to stay in power today with bribes.”
Earlier, BNP organized human chain in 75 organizational districts (metropolitan and district) across the country as part of the simultaneous movement. This new program was announced from the human chain which started from 11 am and lasted till 12 noon. And this is the last party program before Ramadan.
A human chain was organized from Jatrabari to Abdullahpur (Tongi Bridge) on the initiative of Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Branch BNP. However, due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's program on this day, the party decided not to form human chains in three organizational districts in Mymensingh metropolis, North and South.
This is the first time that BNP has held the longest program in Dhaka city. Abdullahpur (Tongi Bridge)-Airport-Yamuna Future Park-Bada-Rampura-Abul Hotel-Malibag Railgate under Mahanagar North initiative and Malibag Railgate-Mouchak-Shantinagar-Kakrail-Naypaltan-Fakirapul-Arambaghmatijheel Shapla Chatwar-Ittefaq Mor-Tikatuli under South BNP initiative. - This program is up to Jatrabari.
Various anti-government parties and alliances including BNP have been holding simultaneous programs since December 24. BNP said that this rally will be held as a part of this.
