President M Abdul Hamid has assented to the much-hyped bill titled "Appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners Bill-2022", passed in the first session of 2022 of 11th Jatiya Sangsad, reports BSS.
With the development on Saturday, the bill unanimously passed in the House by voice vote turns into a law.
According to an official handout, the president assented to the bill for the formation of the Election Commission (EC) and the next commission will be formed in accordance with the new law.
