Another 50 lakh 40 thousand doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine landed in Dhaka. This is so far the second largest vaccine consignment that China has supplied to Bangladesh.
The Dhaka-bound Biman Bangladesh flight landed at Hazrat Shah Jalal International Airport early Saturday (September 11).
The consignment was received at the airport by Md Shamsul Haque, line director at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In-charge of airport health camp Dr. Shahriar Sazzad told the media that consignment landed in a regular Biman Bangladesh flight at around 12:44 AM Saturday (September 11).
Deputy Chief of Mission at the Chinese Embassy in Dhaka Hualong Yan said the consignment is part of the commericial purchase from China.
He also added that this is the second largest consignment of Covid-19 vaccine delivered to Bangladesh.
As a strategic partner of Bangladesh, China will always remain the most reliable supplier whatever and whenever the country needs," added the embassy official.
With the latest consignment, Bangladesh has till now received 2 crore doses of the Sinopharm vaccine.
