The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Robi Axiata Limited, one of the biggest mobile network providers in the country, have reached a three-and-a-half-year agreement for the sponsorship rights of the national cricket team of Bangladesh.

At the BCB headquarters in Mirpur, the two sides signed the agreement on Friday. It said that Robi will give BCB 50 crore taka. The agreement is in effect from this February and will valid till July of 2027.

"BCB is thrilled that Robi is the national team‍‍`s sponsor. We hope to take Bangladeshi cricket to new heights in the days ahead thanks to this relationship," BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury stated on Friday.

After its two-and-a-half-year deal with Daraz expired on November 30, of last year, BCB has been trying to find a new sponsor for the national teams.

However, Robi had previously been the national team‍‍`s title sponsor after agreeing to a two-year deal worth 41.41 crore taka with BCB in 2015. Their sponsorship agreement was extended in 2017 and was set to run through the 2019 World Cup, however in August of 2018, Robi made the decision to end it.
