The great Brazilian footballer Pele’s health has worsened, will spend Christmas in hospital, his medical team and family said on Wednesday.
Currently he is receiving treatment for cancer as well as kidney and heart problems.
The Albert Einstein hospital said in a statement on Wednesday that Pelé’s cancer has advanced and he is under “elevated care”.
On November 29 re-evaluation of his chemotherapy treatment started again, which he has been receiving since having surgery to remove a colon tumor in September 2021.
