Singer Mainul Ahsan Noble has been released from jail after getting bail in a fraud case. He was released on Monday around 1730hrs in the afternoon from the custody of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court of Dhaka.
Earlier, Humayun Kabir, an inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police, produced Noble before the court, upon completion of his one-day remand. At the same time, the lawyer of Noble submitted an application seeking bail in the case filled on May 16 in the running year by Safayet Islam, a former student of Shariatpur’s Bhedarganj Headquarter Pilot Government High School.
The investigation officer (IO) in the case appealed to the court to confine Noble in jail until the investigation is complete as he interrogated Noble on a one-day remand, where he gave important information about the incident which was being verified.
After hearing, the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate court of Md Shafiuddin passed the order of bail. Md. Oliullah, assistant sub inspector (ASI) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police`s (DMP) crime and information wing, confirmed this to the media.
After his release, Noble sought apology to the organizers for canceling concerts in North Bengal and Shariatpur.
At the time Noble said, “There was a misunderstanding about the programmes of North Bengal and Shariatpur. I promised, I will go to Bhedarganj of Shariatpur and North Bengal to make arrange the two programmes later. I see apology for what happened.”
A certain Safayet Islam filed the case in capital’s Motijheel police station on 16 May, claiming that Nobel was paid Tk 172,000 to perform at a cultural event at Bhedarganj in Shariatpur. But the singer but did not show up at the event.
In connection with the case, the detective branch of DMP arrested Noble on 20 May and later on, the court granted police one day remand to interrogate him in custody.
Noble became very famous for his fantastic, outstanding and bizarre performance through Indian television station Zee Bangla`s reality show, `Sa Re Ga Ma Pa`. Noble has been dubbed as `wonder boy` during the contest.
Later he got gigantic popularity both in Bangladesh and in the West Bengal. His performance in the singing contest drew huge crowd on social media.
