Syed Nazibul Bashar Maizvandary, Chittagong-2 MP and chairman of the Bangladesh Tariqat Federation, has expressed his resentment on the government following legal procedure against his two sons over their alleged loan scam.
This comes as the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on February 19 sued 14 people including his sons Syed Taibul Bashar Maizvandary and Syed Aftabul Bashar Maizvandary over reportedly embezzling Tk39.40 crore from Prime Finance and Investment Ltd.
Addressing a programme at his constituency in Fatikchhari on Monday night, he hinting at the government said, “Don’t make me open up. If so, troubles will emerge. I’m will you (ruling party).
“If you want to teach me a lesson, the same will happen to you,” he warned.
Nazibul said, “I’m and will be with you. They are yet to know who I’m. Many will speak for me. It is possible to force BNP home, but not me.”
He also threatened to challenge the ACC lawsuit, saying that the anti-graft watchdog concealed the fact that Tk65 crore involving the loan in question was already refunded.
