Voting for general and by-elections has started across the country in hundreds of Union Councils, Municipalities and Upazilas. Voting has started from Thursday (March 16) 8:00 AM and will continue till 4:00 PM using Electronic Voting Machine (EVM).
General elections are being held in 46 Union Parishads, by-elections in 70 UPs including the post of chairman. Apart from that, general elections in three municipalities, by-elections in six different posts, general elections in one upazila and by-elections in two upazilas are taking place.
46 Union Parishads of Sylhet, Gaibandha, Patuakhali, Tangail, Faridpur, Cumilla, Laxmipur and Chandpur are taking part in general election.
