Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member and also 14-party alliance spokesperson Amir Hossain Amu said BNP and Khaleda Zia are sponsoring the politics of killing in the country.
He said: "The killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were politically rehabilitated and sponsored by Ziaur Rahman while Khaleda Zia sponsored the grenade-attackers of August 21 in 2004."
Amu made the remarks on Sunday while addressing a discussion titled 'Desh Birodhi Ovvontorin O Antorjatik Shorojontro' organized by Ganatanri Party at Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here as the chief guest marking the National Mourning Day.
"The main aim of the deadly August 21 grenade attack was to wipe out the Awami League by killing Bangabandhu's daughter Sheikh Hasina and its top leaders. But the Almighty Allah saved Bangabandhu's daughter," he added.
