Police claimed to have recovered the beheaded body of a 25-year-old man from his house in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Farid Uddin Bhuiyan, a local trader of Kaunia Bhuiyan Bari in the upazila.
Mahammad Shahid Hossain, officer-in-charge of Faridganj Police Station, told UNB that the decapitated body was found in the living room of the house around 10pm.
On information, additional police superintendent (Faridganj circle) Sohel Mahmud rushed to the spot.
"The body has been sent to a local hospital morgue for an autopsy," said OC Shahid.
“No one has been arrested in connection with the killing. A probe is on,” he added.
