Police constable shot by own gun

A police constable was shot by a bullet from his own rifle while performing duties at the Chattogram Divisional Commissioner.

The injured constable Pranab Baura, 26, is now receiving treatment at the intensive care unit of Chattogram Medical College Hospital.

He suffered bullet wounds in the lower abdomen.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police said, Pranab was mentally upset for last few days and tried to kill himself by his official rifle.

The incident took place on Sunday. Police seized the rifle.

A general diary was lodged with the police station.
