After the ceremony at the Bangabhaban, he went to the National Memorial. Earlier on Monday, Md. Shahabuddin took oath as the 22nd President of Bangladesh. Speaker of National Assembly, Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury. administered the oath to him at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban at 11 am.
Outgoing President Md. Abdul Hamid congratulated the new President Md. Shahabuddin by giving flowers. They officially changed their seats as part of the transfer of authority.
