Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that the Election Commission (EC) is determined to provide free, fair and impartial elections. He also said that the aim of the Election Commission is to ensure the voting rights of the voters.
CEC said these things in an exchange meeting with election officials, executive magistrates and law and order forces at the Barisal Circuit House conference room today afternoon.
The Chief Election Commissioner said, "If the law and order situation breaks down in the upcoming Barisal City elections, the law and order forces will have to take the responsibility. His commission is determined to provide a non-partisan election."
CEC said that the local law and order forces will decide whether journalists can use motorcycles on election day.
In response to a question from the journalists, the Chief Election Commissioner said, "The Election Commission is working tirelessly to create a festive voting environment. Its aim is to ensure the voting rights of the voters.”
