At least ten people were injured in Manikganj on Tuesday morning, in a clash between the members of BNP, BCL and Secha Sebok League while observing Amar Ekushey and the International Mother Language Day.
Manikganj Sadar police station branch Jubo League organizing secretary Nazmul Hossain, Secchasebak League leader Sanjid Kajal, Secchasebak League leader Jasim Uddin and six leaders and activists of Sramik League and Jubo League have been injured, according to local sources.
According to the police and local sources, around 9 am on Tuesday, the leaders of the district branch Awami League came to lay flowers at Shaheed Minar. After giving flowers on behalf of Awami League, one side of Sramik League announced the name and the other side blocked it. Later, at one stage of the discussion between the two sides, a clash broke out between the leaders and activists.
Leaders and activists of BNP and BCL chased each other and clashed after placing wreaths at the College Shaheed Minar.
Officer-in-Charge of Manikganj Thana said police has brought the situation under control.
