Authorities are looking into every fire incident to determine whether any sabotage occurred, said Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun on Saturday.
At an iftar program and money distribution ceremony for the underprivileged held by the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association this afternoon at Siddheshwari School and College Ground in the capital, he came up with the remark.
The IGP praised the initiatives of the Bangladesh Shop Owners Association and urged the association's officials to assist the unemployed people who lost their jobs as a result of the fire.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandker Golam Faruq and Tourist Police Additional IGP Habibur Rahman spoke as special guests at the event, which was presided over by Md Helal Uddin, president of the Bangladesh Shop Owner Association.
