Court accepts charge-sheet over torching bus at Rampura

A Dhaka court on Tuesday accepted charge-sheet in a case filed over vandalizing and torching of a couple of buses at the capital's Rampura area after a student ran over in November, 2021.

 

The court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Shanto Islam Mollik accepted the charge-sheet filed against eight accused- Md Shahid Bepari, Md Swapan Reza, Md Nayeem Hasan Mir, Alauddin alias Sifat, Md Hridoy Hasan Pervej, Md Monir Hossain, Obaidul Islam and Sohrab Hossain.

Of the eight, Sohrab is yet to be arrested and the court has issued arrest warrant against him. The court also set December 15 for submitting report on executing the order.

The student named Mainuddin Islam Durjoy, an SSC candidate and also a tea vendor at Rampura Bazar, was killed after coming under a bus of Anabil Paribahan on November 29, 2021.

Sub-inspector Md Maruf Hossain of Rampura Police Station filed the case. Investigation officer and Rampura Police Station sub-inspector Sazzad Hossain Bhuiyan filed the charge-sheet.
