Revenue-stamp fraudster held from city’s Mohammadpur

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), in a secret drive, arrested the mastermind of fake judicial and non-judicial stamp sales ring from the city‍‍`s Mohammadpur area on Monday.

The arrested was identified as Md Fahad, 38, a resident of Dhaka.

RAB-2 Senior Assistant Director (Media) Shihab Karim confirmed the incident by saying: "A total of 300 fake revenue stamps worth Taka 100, a mobile phone and Taka 13,500 in cash were recovered from his possession during that time."

"During primary interrogation, he confirmed that he is a syndicate member of an illegal and fake stamp selling ring. He used to buy fake judicial, non-judicial and revenue stamps from different areas of the capital and sell those to various business and financial institutions in the city‍‍`s surrounding areas," the RAB-2 official said.

Necessary legal action has been taken against him, he added.
