A case has been filed in the Rangpur Labor Court against six persons including the founding chairman of the Grameen Krishi Foundation, the Nobel-winning economist Dr.Muhammad Yunus for non-payment of fair wages and violation of labor laws.
Md Farukul Islam, senior farm manager of Grameen Krishi Foundation (retired) filed the case as the plaintiff in the Rangpur Labor Court around 12:30 pm on Tuesday.
The other accused in the case are - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Grameen Krishi Foundation Noor Jahan Begum, Managing Director (Acting) Shamsud Doha, Board members Imamus Sultan, Ratan Kumar Nag and Shahajan. Confirming the matter of the case, the lawyer of the plaintiff, Shamim Al Mamun, said that a case has been filed against six others including Dr. Yunus for the non-payment of 9 lakh 75 thousand 125 taka for wages, gratuity and earned leave and violation of the labor law and the demand for compensation.
