Professor Kazi Shahidullah, the incumbent chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), has been re-appointed at his post for the second term by the government.
The Ministry of Education has issued a notification in this regard on Thursday
The first four-year term was scheduled to end today.
According to the notification, Professor Kazi Shahidullah will get the same salary and benefits in the second term.
Kazi Shahidullah, a former professor in the history department of Dhaka University, has also served as the vice chancellor of the National University.
Ruling Awami League presidium member Kazi Zafarullah is his sibling.
