Candidates are campaigning with t-shirts and caps in order to create a difference in the election campaign. T-shirt and cap sellers are in high demand as a result of the 12th National Parliament election. Despite the sharp increase in work over a short amount of time, businessmen and workers are pleased with the additional source of income.

Boat and eagle symbols are in high demand

It can be seen that the capital‍‍`s largest cap wholesale market, Siddiq Bazar‍‍`s Roslin Vista, is selling electoral caps. At this time, the manager of Bangladesh Cap Md. Sujan told TheReport.live that the sales are higher than ever between 2018 and 2024 elections.

But in terms of selling the campaign caps, he said, "They are sold in hundreds and thousands, but a minimum order of one hundred pieces is required. If you take only one color cap without print, the minimum price will be 20 taka. If you take it better than this, it will cost 25 taka and little more better will cost around 40 taka.

When asked how much it will cost including printing, he said,"Iif you print any symbol or brand on solid color cap, it will cost only 5 taka and if you print it digitally, it will cost 12 taka, but if the amount is more, it will cost 10 taka. He said that mostly boats and eagle caps have been ordered this time."

When asked about the pressure other than elections and what he does, he said that he works for the meetings and conferences that are held throughout the year in different districts, wards and unions of the country. Besides, they supply caps according to the order of various institutions including schools and colleges.

Product prices have increased

Prices of T-shirts and caps have increased due to increase in the cost of printing equipment and fabrics. However, no candidate is sparing in the campaign. Price of everything has doubled  in the last year and a half. Still, the owners are hopeful of good business.

The owner of Kabir Garment in City Plaza of Bangabazar, Md. Kabir Hossain told TheReport.live that it is very difficult to survive in the competitive market but selective sales are good. Now T-shirts are trending. Apart from the election, the party people print T-shirts with their pictures and surnames for various meetings-marches-gatherings and carry them with stamps during the elections.

The cap and t-shirt traders were seen repairing the printing machines. Printing molds are seen to be repaired quickly to avoid trouble and trouble. And they are preparing for necessary equipment, cloth-ink and seasonal labor stock. It has been seen in the printing factories that the factory workers are having a very busy time. This time, they are getting more work for the "boat" symbols.

Printing press worker Md. Raihan told The Report.live that while the workload is less at other times, the election actually increases the workload.

"This time we have done more work for the "boat" symbol. It feels very nice to do this work during election time", he said.
