The government has decided to reopen shops and malls for 8 hours from April 9-13. However, tougher health protocols must be maintained. The shops will run from 9 am-5 pm.
A gazette notification signed by cabinet division deputy secretary Md. Rezaul Karim has been issued in this regard on Thursday (April 8).
If anyone is found to obstruct the health guidelines, legal action will be taken, the notice read.
Government imposed nationwide Covid guidelines that include closure of shops, malls, hotel and restaurants from 6am, April 5 to 12am April 11 in a bid to curb spread of coronavirus. All public transport movement was suspended.
However, authorities approved plying of city transports from Wednesday.
In a gazette notification government issued 11-point directives on Sunday asking all public and private offices to limit scale of workforce for a week.
