Section 144 has been imposed in Noakhali Sadar. The prohibition of public gathering has been invoked by the administration in Noakhali Municipality and adjacent areas from 6:00 am till 6: 00 pm on Monday (September 6).
Section 144 has been imposed to prevent clashes over a dispute concerning local Awami League committee.
During this period, all sorts of meetings, rallies and processions have been prohibitied.
However, violating Section 144, supporters of Ekramul Qarim, MP held a rally in the city. To disperse the law-violaters, police conducted a lathi-charge.
