Celebrated filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has launched a new project, a hard-hitting thriller featuring Bobby Deol in the lead role. The untitled film has started shooting in Mumbai and also stars Sanya Malhotra, Joju George, and Saba Azad.
Sanya Malhotra, known for her performance in Shah Rukh Khan`s production Love Hostel, reunites with Bobby Deol under Kashyap’s direction, as reported by Peeping Moon. This project also marks the Bollywood debut of renowned Malayalam actor Joju George. Joining them is Saba Azad, acclaimed for her role in the Sony LIV series Rocket Boys. Malhotra, George, and Azad will play pivotal roles alongside Deol, with their characters intricately woven into the plot.
Details of the storyline remain secretive, but it is revealed to be a powerful thriller inspired by a sensitive real-life event. The film promises a thought-provoking exploration of a significant issue, delivered in Kashyap’s raw and unflinching style.
Nikhil Dwivedi is producing the film, with the script penned by Sudip Sharma, known for NH10, Udta Punjab, Paatal Lok, and Kohrra, and Abhishek Banerjee, who wrote the script for Anushka Sharma`s 2018 horror film Pari.
Filming officially began on May 14 and will continue in Mumbai, with production expected to wrap up by June 2024. The film is set for a theatrical release later this year.
