The massive fire that claimed 36 lives, and left more than 200 with critical burn injuries has cast a shadow of gloom across the country.
Many more deaths are feared by fire service officials who are recovering charred bodies from the launch.
State minister for Shipping Khaled Mahmud Chowdhury has left Dhaka for Jhalakathi this morning to observe the situation there.
The information was posted in a notice signed by Md. Jahangir Alam Khan, senior information officer at the ministry of Shipping.
The notice reads: To observe the current situation at the site of the launch accident, the state minister for shipping Khaled Mahmud Chowdhury has left Dhaka for Jhalakathi. He will reach the spot by this afternoon.
